Chartering
![]() |
The chartering is partly done under own management and partly in close co-operation with international charter offices. For the chartering of their container fleet Reider Shipping works together closely with one of the biggest charters in Hamburg. This company charters for almost 250 containervessels up to 4.500 TEU. With this close cooperation Reider Shipping takes a leading position in the chartering market.
Next to the management of their own vessels, Reider shipping also provides the management of vessels of third parties. The company manages container vessels of 500-1000 TEU and multipurpose vessels up to 6.000 DWT. Reider Shipping provides the technical, nautical and commercial management for part of the Hermann Buss Group fleet.

A big advantage for Reider Shipping is that their own agents network and the experienced personnel saves on a costly sales network and thus on the negotiation costs which would otherwise be added to the account of the charter. (the so-called soft costs).
The fact that Reider Shipping has chosen the right course is shown by the constantly growing fleet. More and more raw materials an semi-finished articles are being transported in containers. This will mean an increase of the container trade by 100 % in the coming 10 years. After all, the steady growing flows of trade goods between countries and continents can only be handled with this transport medium.
Reider Shipping has the right vessel with the right crew for every cargo.
